6/24 Stingrays v. Halibuts
Great first meet everyone! We lost by a margin that is hard to make up when we have a lot of our swimmers on vaca or finishing up spring sports. Meanwhile, several personal bests were happening, lollypops handed out over and over again!
We greatly appreciate everyone who helped set up the deck, took on extra shifts and helped clean up afterward. Many hands make for lighter work for all!
Favorite quote from the weekend: from a new Stingray family - "I had no idea how much work it was to put a swim meet on and how much fun it would be!" Truer words have never been spoken ;)
The next meet is this Wednesday @ home vs. Herndon Halibuts. It should be a great meet, let's get all RSVPs in by noon tomorrow and grab a volunteer spot or two! Timing, running and clerk of course give you front row seats for the fun! We also need Stroke and Turns on deck.
Here are a few details and reminders:
- Declare your swimmer by noon on Tuesday, June 23rd
- Sign up for a volunteer spot or two
- Theme this week: WESTERN- giddy-up!
- Arrive by 5:15 to get ready for 5:25 Warm-ups
- New: Pre-Order a Pizza (cheese or pepperoni) so you can feed the whole family and take a cooking night off! Click here for the pre-order form
- Additional concessions will also be available
- Parking - please, please, please do not block driveways or easements in the neighborhood, do not park in front of the boat/trailer gates, on any grass areas or the fire lanes. We do not want you towed
- As relays start, please help us start to reset the pool deck and clean up. All trash, food, goggles, towels, etc. need to be cleaned up.
Sadly, I will miss the meets this week, as I will be on work and personal travel. If you have questions at the meet, please look for Naomi, Jeanne or Coach Lilly - they all have the answers
Keep swimming ~ Brooke
